The plan is especially beneficial if you have health problems. Premiums for Plan N are much lower. In some cases as much as $90 per month lower.

Plan N pays the Part A deductible and copays. Plan N does not pay the Part B calendar year deductible, currently $147, and you must pay an office visit copay of up to $20 and an emergency room copay of $50. However, the ER copay is waived if you are admitted. The rest of the 20% is paid.

Medicare Has Three Parts: A, B, & D.

  • Medicare Part A is Hospital inpatient insurance.
  • Medicare Part B is your doctor and outpatient insurance
  • Medicare Part D is prescription drug insurance.
  • Medicare Part C has all three, but you must pay any deductibles, copays, and the 20% yourself. There may also be network restrictions. You cannot have a Medicare supplement with Medicare Advantage.
  • Medicare Supplements are available to people with Original Medicare.
