Arizona Medicare Plans

Residents eligible for Arizona Medicare plans also have the ability to purchase Medicare Supplements or Medicare Advantage plans.

As long as you are eligible for Original Medicare and a resident of the state, you also have the option to enroll into either of these two plans.

Medicare Supplement Open Enrollment

Because the only time to receive guaranteed coverage through Medicare Supplements (also called Medigap) is during your open enrollment period, that is the best time to purchase a plan.

Your open enrollment period is during the first six months your Part B coverage is in effect.

During this window, you can enroll in an Arizona Medigap plan with any pre-existing health condition.

You can still enroll at any time after open enrollment, but you will have to answer some health questions.

After the end of 2019, new Medicare enrollees will no longer be able to select Medigap Plans C or F in Idaho. Beneficiaries who already have these plans will be able to keep them.

Arizona Medicare Advantage Plans

Also known as Part C plans, Medicare Advantage is a private Medicare plan that provides all Original Medicare benefits but also include extra benefits like dental, prescription drugs, and vision coverage.

Medicare Part C Plans available vary considerably across the state of Arizona. There are as few as two plans to as many as 41 depending on the part of the state you live in. Be sure to contact a helpful, licensed Arizona Medicare Plans agent with us to help you determine the options available to you.

Medicare Part D

While Original Medicare and Medicare Supplement plans don’t offer coverage for prescription drugs, there is an option to enroll in Medicare Part D. There are over 20 Part D plans available in Arizona. If you don’t want to pay out-of-pocket for your prescriptions, be sure to look into Medicare Advantage or a standalone Part D plan.
